Bubbles the Artist – a fun and interactive way to view art

Bubbles the Artist features the art of GRAMMY®, Tony, and Webbie award-winning artist Allee Willis (whose hit songs include Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” and “Boogie Wonderland”). The website reflects her eccentric essence featuring moving art, ceramics, greeting cards and sound effects.

5D Spectrum created a dynamic search and filter interface that allows users to explore art by category, content topic, and media types – uncovering some hidden gems in this colection.

As one of the oldest websites on the internet, Award-winnig web designer Allee Willis used flash technology to animate and bring the artwork to life. Becauase Flash technology’s ‘end-of-life’ was in late 2020, 5D Spectrum was contracted to convert all of the site’s flash animations to HTML5 formats, a process that took several years, and is still in process today.

It has been a long and tedious process but a great percentage of the original flash animations have been converted to modern animation formats while retaining the unique vision of Allee Willis.
