Google Analytics 4 is Coming!
Google is upgrading its analytics – are you prepared?
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the next-generation measurement solution, and it’s replacing the original Google Analytics and Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will stop recording new activity. For customers who still rely on Universal Analytics, we recommend preparing to use Google Analytics 4 going forward, starting sooner than later to start capturing and using data in the new format.
What is Google’s timeline to transition to Google Analytics 4 ?
- Up till July 1, 2023, customers can continue to use and collect new data in existing Universal Analytics properties.
- After July 1, 2023, customers will be able to access previously processed data in their Universal Analytics property for at least six months. It is highly recommended to export historical reports during this time.
- In the coming months, Google will provide a future date for when existing Universal Analytics properties will no longer be available. After this future date, customers will no longer be able to see their Universal Analytics reports in the Analytics interface or access the Universal Analytics data via the API.
- On October 1, 2023, 360 Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits.
