Enhance your Brand with Lifestyle Photography

In the days of endless stock imagery, why would we want to take the time and expense to shoot something unique?

Every brand has a voice. That voice is represented by words and visuals including photography and illustrations. Every company has a unique identifier so that each brand has an opportunity to stand apart from its competition.  By shooting high-quality commercial and lifestyle photography, you can use unique imagery to distinguish your products and services in the market.

Do stock photos still have value?

Stock imagery definitely has its place in branding. Not every campaign can afford a trip to the top of a mountain or a destination overseas, and there is no guarantee that the weather will perfect as well.

“One of the first stock images I purchased was for the cover of a computer game package called ‘Castles.’ We chose to buy a stock image because the cost to fly a photographer to England and acquire the permits to shoot the castle was more expensive than buying the rights to use the selected stock image.”

Make it real with unique brand photography!

At 5D Spectrum, we have several photographers on staff, and several more on contract, allowing us to shoot any format for any condition.

We have our own equipment for the majority of shoots, and rent additional equipment when needed. We can shoot on location or we can source a rented location if the client does not have an appropriate place to do the lifestyle photoshoot.

“Once we rented a furniture showroom so we could choose what decor best represented the Moody Leather Guitar Straps brand. These pictures portray the lifestyle or mood of this band representing the brand.”

Try not to eat your shots!

We recently shot on location for a health food manufacturer, Boku Superfood, who opened their first restaurant, Cafe Boku, featuring a menu infused with their own superfood products.

“It was so hard to wait until after the shoot to taste the delicious food, smoothies and drinks as they came out of the kitchen! That is often the benefit of natural food photography.”

Cafe Boku with its bright and open indoor and outdoor dining is located in beautiful Ojai, California.

The first photoshoot we did for Boku was to capture the food for their quickly evolving menu and POS system. Our goal was to inspire hunger. We styled each shot with a rich pallet using natural wood and fresh ingredients to accent the shots.

Capturing ‘lifestyle’ moments to represent your brand.

While we were on break, we gathered the Boku family to capture the fresh and joyous mood of this brand in their outdoor dining area.

“I get excited about meeting clients at their places of business and getting to know them. The environmental portraits convey connection, warmth, and personality in a manner that is consistent with the subject’s brand and surroundings. Whether we are shooting superfood innovators, vintage clock sellers, westside lawyers, or 3d production companies, our portraits are unique and tailored to the individual. We bring out the very best smiles and self-confident poses our clients have to offer using an array of professional cameras, lenses, light modifiers, and strobes.”

Environmental portraits can tell a story with a picture.

Our third photo shoot for Boku was to capture the lifestyle of founder Lynn Rolle in an environmental portrait. Working with makeup artist Phoebe Dawson, and photographer Michael Dee, we were able to capture Lynn in her Cafe Boku environment behind the counter, out on the floor, and ultimately outside in the outdoor dining area. Her favorite shot was selected for the cover of Ojai Monthly Magazine.

“After a half-day shoot on location at Boku Superfood headquarters, we had more than a dozen great cover shot candidates to choose from. We love the shot that Lynn ultimately selected because it really brought out her personality.”

”The most conscientious and strategic marketing firm we’ve ever engaged. 5D are a team of industry leading experts that invested the time to fully immerse themselves in our business, before spending a dime on advertising. While fundamental, most digital marketing firms seem to hide behind clever sales pitches designed to simply “roll the dice” at your expense. We have never experienced this level of granular focus and dedication to collective success.
