3D Traffic Works is a U.S. manufacturer of traffic safety products serving contractors, distributors, and public agencies across North America. Their website plays a central role in how buyers research products, confirm compliance, and initiate quotes across a vast catalog.

THE CHALLENGE

The existing site supported a wide product catalog but struggled to guide users efficiently through complex purchasing decisions. Buyers needed detailed product information, documentation, and compliance clarity before requesting a quote, yet the path between browsing and inquiry lacked structure.

At the same time, the platform needed to support integrated product lines without creating confusion or friction. Unlike traditional eCommerce, there was no checkout flow to rely on. Every interaction needed to move users toward a quote request while respecting how manufacturers sell at scale.

The challenge was to balance depth and clarity. The site had to present a large catalog, remain easy to navigate, and support sales conversations without overwhelming the user or breaking the quote-only model.

THE SOLUTION

We redesigned the site experience around how buyers actually evaluate traffic safety products. The UI and UX were structured to help users compare products, access specifications, and understand use cases before initiating a quote.

A custom MIVA theme was developed to support marketing pages while maintaining consistency across product categories. Product pages were rebuilt to emphasize clarity, documentation access, and next steps, replacing traditional purchase prompts with quote-focused calls to action.

Integrated upsell logic was introduced to highlight related products during the research phase, supporting larger and more complete quote requests. Photography was refreshed to improve product recognition and real-world context.

The result is a site that works as a sales tool, not a store, helping buyers move from discovery to inquiry with less friction and clearer intent.

During the design process, 5D refreshed the TrafficWORKS logo by simplifying it to give it a more modern look.
